YOUR APPLICATION PREPARATION

Keep your plan. Keep a backup.

The free browser workspace saves on your device. A signed-in account saves encrypted planning content when access is active. Check the save indicator and keep a downloaded backup.

Start with a shortlist

  1. Open the program directory and save schools that interest you.
  2. Open My programs to see application timing, checklist progress and questions to confirm.
  3. Select two to four schools to compare. Read each rate’s unit and period before comparing costs.
  4. Add your own courses, experience and tasks. These are planning records, not an application submission.

Export a restorable backup

Use Export backup at the top of the dashboard, or open Your workspace → Export backup. Keep the downloaded JSON file somewhere you control. It includes your school list, notes, courses, observation contacts, tasks, essays, versions and budgets.

Export after important changes and before clearing browser data, changing devices or moving between a browser workspace and a signed-in account. A backup can contain personal information; protect it as you would your application notes.

Restore on another browser or device

  1. Open the dashboard on the destination browser. Export its existing plan first if you want to keep it.
  2. Open Your workspace → Restore backup and choose the JSON file.
  3. Review the confirmation. Restoring replaces the current plan in this browser or signed-in account; it does not merge two plans.
  4. Check your saved schools, essays and tasks after import.

The backup must use a supported format and program identifiers. An invalid file is rejected without replacing your plan. Text summaries and calendar downloads are useful copies, but cannot restore the complete workspace.

Understand browser storage

A different browser, device, hostname or port has a separate workspace. Browser-only plans are separate from account plans and are never uploaded automatically. Private browsing, cleared site data, browser policies or storage limits can remove or prevent browser saves. To transfer a browser plan into an account, export it, sign in and activate access, then restore the JSON backup.

If a storage warning appears, export before closing the tab. If another tab changes your plan, saving pauses to avoid overwriting the newer copy. Export any unsaved work, then reload the latest saved plan.

Accounts, access and saving

On the hosted dashboard, request a DPT sign-in code and enter it in the same browser window. Never share the code. Creating an account does not take a payment. Choose a prepaid access term in Account & access when you are ready to save your plan to an account. The free browser workspace remains available without a purchase.

With active access, wait for Saved to your account before closing the tab. Sign in on another device to use the saved plan. Browser-only plans are separate and are not uploaded automatically. To transfer one, export its JSON backup, sign in with active access, then restore it.

We keep encrypted recovery copies of saved account data. These do not include every edit or replace your own exports. The retention policy explains how recovery copies and deleted content are handled.

If saving fails, your edits remain in the open tab. Account & access offers export, retry and loading the server copy. A conflict pauses saving; export unsaved changes before loading the newer copy. There is no automatic merge. After production access expires, export and deletion remain available for 14 days before scheduled content deletion. Export before expiry; see the retention policy. Signing out clears the visible account plan.

Examples, resets and reminders

The example uses fictional records. Loading an example or starting a blank plan replaces the current workspace after confirmation. Export first if you want to keep your work.

Tasks do not send email or push reminders. Export dated tasks as a calendar file and import it into your calendar if desired; configure alerts there. No automatic updates are sent when program requirements change.
